 “Dongmyung has more than 40 years of experience in producing lighting products under our RAAT brand. In 2010, we started to produce LED lighting products for commercial applications. Apart from supplying to department stores in Korea, we also export our products to Latin America, Oceania and Western Europe. We have participated in the Hong Kong International Lighting Fair since 2005. It is a nice show which attracts so many overseas visitors. It provides an important platform for us to introduce new items and to strengthen our relationships with both existing and new customers. The Hong Kong fair can stimulate our sales growth because we receive many orders from this fair. We expect that we’ll be able to make 500-600 new contacts at this year’s fair.”

Some of our existing distributors have verbally confirmed their orders. Business atmosphere at this show has been very good. We expect a 20-percent increase in buyer attendance.”

 “In business for more than 100 years, ECC supplies high-quality lighting products and furniture for home and commercial use. Apart from operating retail shops in New Zealand and Australia, we also supply lighting products to procurement companies. This is the first time that I attend the Hong Kong International Lighting Fair. I am here looking for crystal chandeliers, table lamps and floor lamps which can be used in projects such as casinos and hotels. The Hong Kong fair is much bigger than I thought. I am excited to be here because there are many new designs and new products. I have found good European designs which are made by Chinese mainland suppliers who have cooperated with European companies. The fair provides a good chance for me to talk to designers directly and make a lot of business contacts.”

 “Trialight is an importer and distributor of lighting products in Russia. We offer one-stop service from sourcing of lighting products to installation for factories, retail shops and supermarkets. It is our first time visiting the Hong Kong International Lighting Fair. We are looking for high bay lights and spotlights for our clients. So far, we have found 10 potential suppliers who make good products. We’ll receive samples from them after the show. We’ll then ask our agent from the Chinese mainland to visit these factories before finalising our orders. We like the Hong Kong fair because it is a big show with a lot of new products and new suppliers. More importantly, we can find what we want here. We’ll visit the show again next year.”

Despite recent incidents in Hong Kong, Hong Kong continues to be a safe city for business with inbound and outbound flights operating normally. The Wan Chai area is not affected and the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) is operating normally.
Visitors are advised to allow extra time for commuting and are highly encouraged to travel to HKCEC by MTR and Star Ferry to avoid possible road traffic congestion. Enhanced free shuttle bus service between the HKCEC and major areas of the city is also available. |
